Georgia has lots of wildlife you can read about on this app. In the southeast animals such as black bears, bobcats ,deer, wild hogs, and gators. Trees such as pine trees grow here. The ground around south Georgia is mostly flat, but in the central Piedmont the ground is the opposite. There the ground is mostly hills. In the north, the ground is usually made up of mountains.
Black bears
Black bears are found in the Okefenokee Swamp. They are deadly meat, honey, and berry eating predators. In fact, they eat about whatever they can get their hands on. Even humans! They have a thick coat of black fur ,so obviously that's how they get their name. These beasts have extremely sharp teeth. All bears get out of your hair after a launch of bear spray. So, grab your bear spray before going on swamp or mountain trails.
Bobcats
Bob cats live in the woods. They eat small mammals, birds, and eggs They have long legs for speed, their color for camo, and sharp claws for capturing prey. Bob cats can be found throughout the whole state.
Deer
Deer are herbivores. They eat grass and leaves. They live in forests and agriculture places. Deer are really good at running and jumping high. They can even jump fences. Their coats are brown and help camouflage them and keep them warm. Deer can be found all throughout Georgia, from the coastal plains to the North Georgia mountains.
Wild hogs
Most wild hogs I know live on Cumberland Island, but they can be found in the mountains too! These crazy pigs grow tusks or horns. But wild boars are in danger. The state of Georgia tells people to get rid of these pigs. So we need to help save them. They are omnivores that eat eat things such as roots, nuts, seeds, berries, and small animals such as insects.
Alligators
Alligators live in the Okefenokee Swamp and the Satilla River. They have sharp teeth and strong jaws for crushing prey. They also have eyes up front for scanning the area for prey. Alligators eat fish, people, snakes, turtles, and mammals. Young alligators feed on small things like insects. While older alligators feed on bigger things such as deer.
